IMPORTANT INFORMATION Effective July 1, 2011 all Russian Visa applicants are required to fill out Visa application forms using only Special Visa Application Web service http://evisa.kdmid.ru/ Russian visa applications prepared using the old format or in a different manner will not be accepted after July 1, 2011. After filling the Electronic Visa Application form online, applicants will have to print a copy of their application form, sign and date it, glue the requred size photo to it and submit this printed original form, along with other necessary documentation, to the Russian Consulate personally or through their representative or a visa agency. The Electronic Visa Application Form will provide greater accuracy and security in processing visa applications. It should be filled out in its full entirety. Incomplete forms may significantly delay visa processing time. |

When applying, please, be advised that the permission to enter Russia is a courtesy of the State. In accordance with the International Law, the Consulate in certain cases reserves the right to consider your visa applications for as long as it is necessary.
TOURIST VISA Attention, cruise sea ship passengers According to the Russian Immigration Law you do not need a tourist visa for the period of up to 72 hours if you travel on International Cruise Sea Ship and you have accomodation on the same shipboard as well as a group tourist program during your stay in the Russian seaport. All other tourists have to apply for a tourist visa A tourist visa can be single-entry or double-entry for a period of no more than 30 days. Documents required for a tourist visa 1.
A completed visa application form (one per person) with one
professional passport-size photo glued to the appropriate
space of the form. The form is to be completed accurately and completely, every question must be answered (if a question does not apply, please type N/A). The form should bear the Applicant’s original signature, all dates should be written following the European standard (day/ month/ year). Please state clearly your contact telephone number and e-mail. Incomplete forms will be returned unprocessed. 2. A valid passport (original) and a copy of its vital pages with bearer’s personal data (including the amendments at p. 24: passport validity extension, the bearer's name change, etc. Passport must be valid for six months beyond the visa expiration date and contain at least two blank pages marked “visas”, otherwise the passport and documents will not be accepted. 3. A standart “Confirmation” and “Tourist Voucher” from a hosting authorized Russian travel agency or a hotel registered with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (Any authorized travel company must be assigned a special reference number which should be indicated in the Confirmation letter). Attention, former citizens of the USSR При обращении за визой заявителю необходимо предоставить документ, подтверждающий отсутствие у него российского гражданства (копия выездной визы из СССР, копия заграничного паспорта СССР с отметкой о выезде на постоянное жительство до 2 февраля 1992 года, паспорт с указанием гражданства одной из стран СНГ, либо иной документ, свидетельствующий об отсутствии у заявителя российского гражданства).
Attention, non-American citizens You may apply for a visa at the Consulate if you are a US Green Card holder or if you have a long term non-immigration legal status in the USA valid for more than 3 months . The holders of US tourist visas or short term visitors have to apply for a Russian visa in the country of their residence only. On the basis of reciprocity a mandatory medical insurance (see the list of appropriate licensed insurers) for all period of stay is required for the citizens of Schengen Agreement Member-States (exept for the US Green Card holders). 4. Visa fees and processing time information Method of payment - a money order or a cashier’s check payable to the Russian Consulate General for visa processing. Attention, EU citizens In accordance with the Visa Agreement signed by the Russian Federation and the European Union citizens of all EU countries exept Ireland, Great Britain are welcome to submit the following fees for all types of visas: 6 - business days – 50 USD 1-3 business days – 100 USD 5. If applying by mail, please don’t forget to enclose a completely filled prepaid envelope. Due to security reasons and in order to avoid delivery lost or delay, we recommend to use FedEx service (using your FedEx account number only, NO DEBIT OR CREDIT ACCOUNTS), USPS, Express mail. The Consulate is not responsible for any loss or delay of the mail. Please be advised, that the type of visa or dates of entry/departure are not subject to any changes or extention, once documents are submitted. In case the Applicant’s travel plans have changed or he/she requests correction to be made due to any reason other than computer misprint, the Applicant will have to apply for a new visa. Once visa application fee is paid, it is not refundable. After you receive your visa, please check it for mistakes and, if necessary, return it to the Consulate for corrections. The Consulate General will not be responsible for any mistakes in the visa, which are not brought to our attention prior to your departure from the USA. Please be advised, that according to the Russian Migration Law, the Applicant can not have two valid visas in the passport. In this case, the one issued earlier is to be cancelled. Processing time, requirements and fees are subject to change without notice. Any Applicant may be interviewed by a consular officer if necessary.
